As data volumes surge and ransomware threats intensify, enterprise storage strategy is under increasing pressure. In this Q&A, Judy Kaldenberg, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Nexsan, shares how the company is helping organizations manage large-scale data environments with predictable economics, long-term reliability, and a 100% channel-focused model. From total cost of ownership to partner enablement and global expansion, Kaldenberg explains why Nexsan continues to differentiate itself in a highly competitive storage market.

    Judy Kaldenberg SVP of Nexsan

For readers who may not be familiar with Nexsan yet, how would you describe the
    company’s focus and mission today?
Nexsan is an enterprise data storage company focused on delivering reliable, secure,
and cost-effective storage solutions for organizations that need to manage and protect
large volumes of data without the long-term cost and complexity trade-offs often
    associated with cloud-first approaches.

At the core of Nexsan’s mission is helping customers achieve the lowest total cost of
ownership (TCO) while still meeting demanding requirements for performance,
scalability, security, and compliance. Nexsan designs storage platforms that support a
wide range of use cases, including primary storage, backup and recovery, immutable
and compliant storage, virtualization, digital video surveillance, and modern data
workloads such as time-series data and vector-based data used by large language
    models.

Customer satisfaction is central to how Nexsan operates. Solutions are engineered for
longevity, operational efficiency, and predictable economics, allowing customers to plan
with confidence and retain control over their data. Just as importantly, Nexsan is a
100% channel-focused organization, committed to partner growth through a business
model that prioritizes partner profitability, enablement, and long-term relationships.
Today, Nexsan is also investing in geographic expansion, extending its reach across
Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and other global markets to better
    serve customers and partners locally.

Channel partnerships clearly play a central role at Nexsan. Why has a partner-first
approach become so important in the enterprise storage and security market?

Channel partnerships play such a central role at Nexsan because our channel partners
are closest to the customer. They understand the full infrastructure, the operational
realities, and the business constraints their customers face. That perspective is critical
in today’s enterprise storage and security market, where success depends on designing
solutions that fit the whole environment, not just solving a single problem in isolation.
Nexsan has always been a 100% channel-focused company because we believe
partners are best positioned to act as trusted advisors, bringing the right mix of storage,
data protection, and security solutions to their customers based on real-world needs.

When partners are deeply ingrained with their customers, outcomes improve for
    everyone involved.

Organizations are facing growing challenges around data growth, security, and
ransomware. What are you seeing most often from partners and customers right
    now?

What we’re hearing most often from partners and customers is that data growth,
security, and ransomware protection are converging into one challenge. Data volumes
continue to rise, ransomware risk is increasing, and organizations can’t afford gaps in
    protection or recovery.

At the same time, infrastructure pressures are growing. Drive shortages, rising DRAM
and media costs, and longer lead times are making storage planning more complex,
while customers are demanding predictability around cost. That’s pushing organizations
to align solutions that meet their requirements and provide clear, known storage
    economics.

We’re seeing renewed focus on on-premises storage because the TCO is predictable,
especially compared to cloud models where costs can continue to escalate at unknown
rates as data grows or even as access to existing data increases.

Our message is simple: don’t sit and wait for prices to come down because they most likely won’t.

Organizations that act now are better positioned to control costs, manage growth, and
strengthen their security posture over the long term.

Nexsan operates in a highly competitive enterprise storage space. What do you
believe truly differentiates Nexsan from other vendors?

Nexsan operates in a very competitive market, but what truly differentiates us is how we
work with our partners and customers. We do not compete with our partners. Our model
is built around supporting them, which creates trust and allows partners to stay firmly at
the center of the customer relationship. We also offer a high degree of flexibility. Whether it’s tailoring a solution, responding to a unique customer requirement, or adjusting quickly as needs change, Nexsan can move faster than many larger vendors. Partners consistently tell us they value that responsiveness.
Reliability is another key differentiator. Nexsan has a long track record of systems that
continue running in production data centers for 10 years or more, supported well
beyond typical industry timelines. Customers know they’re investing in technology they
can depend on, not something that will need to be replaced prematurely. At the end of the day, Nexsan stands out because we combine proven reliability with a partner-first mindset. We listen, we respond quickly, and we stay aligned with the channel so partners can deliver the right outcomes for their customers with confidence.

You were recently recognized by CRN as a 2026 Channel Chief. What does that
recognition mean to you personally, and how does it reflect Nexsan’s broader
    channel strategy?

Being recognized by CRN as a 2026 Channel Chief was truly an honor, and one I don’t
take lightly. But more than anything, it gave me an opportunity to talk about Nexsan, and
that’s what I’m most grateful for. I’m proud of what we deliver to our employees, our
partners, and our customers every day, and of the way we do it. This recognition really
reflects the collective effort of a team that cares deeply about doing the right thing and
delivering meaningful outcomes. I’ve spent much of my career on the partner side of the business, so I understand firsthand how important trust, transparency, and consistency are. Nexsan has always been a 100% channel-focused company, and that alignment is real. It shows up in how we support our partners, protect their opportunities, and build reliable, flexible solutions that help them succeed with their customers. Being able to represent that commitment, and all the people behind it, is what makes this recognition especially meaningful to me.

Looking ahead, what are Nexsan’s top priorities as you continue to support
partners and customers in an increasingly complex IT environment?

Looking ahead, Nexsan’s priorities are focused on helping partners and customers
move forward with confidence in an increasingly complex IT environment. That means
continuing to develop practical, purpose-built solutions that address real requirements
around scale, security, and cost predictability without adding unnecessary complexity.
We know that our customers place a high value on our expertise for that rare instance
when something does go wrong in their production environment. So, we will continue to
prioritize top-tier knowledgeable support to customers.
We’re also expanding our alliance partnerships and certifications to ensure Nexsan
integrates cleanly into broader ecosystems. Strong technology alliances make it easier
for partners to design complete solutions and give customers confidence that their
infrastructure choices will work together seamlessly.

Just as important is our continued focus on enablement and responsiveness. That
means equipping partners with the tools, training, and support they need to be
successful, while maintaining the agility to respond quickly to customer and partner
    feedback.

Finally, we’re committed to geographic expansion and deeper local presence, so
partners and customers receive consistent support wherever they do business. As IT
environments grow more complex, Nexsan’s priority remains simple: help partners
deliver reliable, flexible storage solutions that solve real problems and stand the test of
    time.
